Lower the cutoff to keep more of a soft edge like hair; raise it for a hard-edged subject like a logo.

Works best with clear contrast between the subject and its background — people, animals and solid objects come out well. Glass and other transparent things are usually dropped, and a pale subject on a pale background can come back faded or patchy. If the result looks wrong, the cutoff and feather sliders above are the first thing to try.
