A small, fast model — not the sharpest one available.
This uses a compact 4.9 MB super-resolution model so the download stays honest rather than a multi-minute wait. It genuinely synthesises detail a plain resize cannot — edges and mid-frequency texture come back cleaner — but fine texture like skin pores, individual hairs or dense small text comes back softer than the largest upscalers can manage.
Measured on this device: a 400×300 photo took 15-25 seconds run to run, a 768×576 one closer to a minute. There is no GPU acceleration here, only single-threaded CPU — a slower device will take longer, not fail. Everything runs locally; nothing is uploaded.
Capped at 600px on the longest edge — well past that, the wait stops being worth it on CPU alone. This is for enlarging a small or medium image, not reprocessing something already large.
